Sample: A Research Note with Equations

An example of Markdown, inline math, display equations, code, and tables.

ResearchSample article

This is a formatting sample, not a record of personal research. Replace it with your own paper notes or experiments.

Research question

State the question you want to answer in a sentence or two, and explain why it matters. Then define your notation, such as the input xx, target yy, and parameters θ\theta.

Method or derivation

You can write LaTeX directly in an article. Here is an example loss function:

L(θ)=−1N∑i=1Nlog⁡pθ(yi∣xi)\mathcal{L}(\theta) = -\frac{1}{N}\sum_{i=1}^{N}\log p_\theta(y_i\mid x_i)

Explain each term in plain language and connect it to the research question. Equations should help the reader follow the idea.

Experiment log

Markdown also supports code blocks, lists, and tables:

for batch in dataloader:
    loss = model(batch)
    loss.backward()
VersionChangeObservation
BaselineInitial methodPoint of comparison
Variant AChange one variableRecord the measured difference

Next steps

List open questions, failed cases, and the next experiment. A research note can grow as the work continues.
